Since we’re being “honest” here, I have to admit—I wasn’t the student that filled their time in-between periods making note cards for an economics test. (Shhh…) What I did fill is my composition books with original ideas, illustrations, copywriting, and doodles. Some of my best ideas come at inconvenient times— I am left with no choice but to clock out of pre-calc or pull over my car to jot down an idea.

Prompt: Use a picture of a drawing or doodle in different ways
Portraying a different meaning through color and design can send entirely different message to viewers. My goal was to make every piece evoke a different emotion, story and style.
Tangibility is an important element to consistently producing original concepts. Whether it’s slapping paint on a canvas, changing the pen or pencil I’m using, or changing my scenery when I feel stuck. From my personal experience this is my minds process of making room for more ideas. Living in such a digital world has led me to the discovery of my need to use my hands to create. It puts my mind in what I refer in my creative process as
“The Magical Land of Flow”.
