With online shopping taking over sales during the holiday season, members of the community needed to be informed of options in their area to support local businesses. It was my task to inform those consumers to a marketplace within the Cherry Hill Mall year-round but particularly for an event “Shop Small at the Mall”.
The event hosted by the company I interned for 1776 is a co-working incubator that has a marketplace attachment. It is Cherry Hill’s epicenter to be connected to small local businesses, artisans and makers. The surrounding towns such as Haddonfield, Collingswood, and Moorestown have a tight-knit Mainstreet lined with a variety of diverse options to support locally on a daily basis.
In response, I came up with a release that emphasized that even though Cherry Hill is considered a small metropolitan city lacking a center of town that The Founders’ Market at 1776 is providing options for local and mall-goers alike to steer away from larger corporations. This can be tempting especially during the Holiday season due to all the great deals being showcased at the mall.
This was successful because it informed the local community of a year-round hometown opinion while informing consumers of an option that has never been offered prior to the Cherry Hill Mall. about the event.
Call-to-Action 1776 Incubator & Founders Market
The co-working incubator and local market opened its doors to the newest and first location in the South Jersey Area when interning this past fall. Primarily in Philadelphia, my main objective was to gain visibility. In addition, I wanted to highlight the quarterly release of new and trendy local vendors.
The solution to maintaining this visibility and to inform was to send out this short and simple quarterly release to all the local news stations and newspapers. In return, it would inform the public of its prime location in the Cherry Hill Mall. It was important to highlight that local vendors are switched out quarterly. In return, this maintains interest in the Founders’ Market while informing that it is attached to a co-working space incubator..
I accomplished three things.
My short press release informed the local area of a faculty that isn’t offered in the area.
Highlighted the local vendors that are switched out quarterly and subliminally attracted local vendors that may be interesting in occupying the space along with the coworking incubator spaces.
This release in return was produced to create long-term visibility and highlight its prime location
